What are common paper weights?

PDFPrintE-mail

Common Brochure weights are 80lb and 100lb text. 80lb text is nice, and 100lb is heavier and feels richer. They can be Uncoated, Gloss or Silk. Post Cards and Rack Cards can be 100lb Cover (coated both sides), 120lb Cover (coated both sides), 10pt C1S (coated 1 side), 12pt C1S (coated 1 side), 12pt C2S (coated both sides). Magazines and Catalogs can be "Self Cover" which means the cover paper and the inside paper are the same paper. Or they can have a heavy cover, like 100lb Cover, and leave the inside paper with 100lb text or 80lb text.

There is a large array of paper weights, 80lb and 100lb are most commonly used for brochure or short run catalog or booklet printing but if a catalog has a lot of pages or is an extremely long run, to minimize your cost you may want to consider using a 60lb or 70lb text weight paper.

If you have a paperweight preference that is not listed please ask for a custom quote.
